Japan Aluminum Products Shipments Down 3.9 pct in Feb

Japanese shipments of aluminum products fell for the sixth straight month in February, down 3.9 percent from a year earlier to 184,208 tonnes, data from the Japan Aluminium Association showed last week. Weak demand in the construction sector has been blamed in part for the recent decline. Construction demand has been falling in large part due to tighter building rules introduced after a scandal over falsified engineering data for apartment blocks.
