Japan's copper exports up by 15% in January 2012

 Japan's refined copper exports in January increased by 15% Year-on-Year to 30184 tonne, says the latest reports.

 
 
However, on a monthly basis, exports are down compared to December 2011's 39,309 tonnes of export. Copper cathode exports to China rose 50% for the month.
 
 
January refined zinc exports surged 49% YoY to 11,498 tonnes. Exports to China more almost tripled at 2973 tonnes compared to 1050 tonnes in the same period last year.
 
 
Japanese zinc smelters had lost almost 70% of their production capacity in the aftermath of the March 2011 earthquake, but output has strengthened ever since.
