It was reported that a quarter of production capacity at Norsk Hydro’s Albras electrolytic aluminum plant was impacted due to power failure caused by a fire accident in an electrical transformer on the morning of March 6th.

According to Norsk Hydro, the failure shut down one of the four production lines, and the remaining three production lines were operated normally. Luckily, there were no casualties caused by the accident.
Norsk Hydro said that it was too early to assess the losses caused by the incident, and Albras will cooperate with the local government to investigate the cause of the fire accident.
