Jamaican PNP appeals to stop bauxite mining plan until having resolution

   The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) of Jamaica had refused to issue environmental permits previously, but the relevant department of the government still granted a license to Jamaica World LLC for the mining activities in Puerto Bueno Mountain, where is home to endangered species.

  The local residents expressed their concerns, hoping to see the government’s transparency in approving the licenses.
  Besides, the People's National Party (PNP) of Jamaica appealed to Prime Minister Andrew Holness for halting activities until reaching an approachable resolution.
