RUSAL and SUAL gearing up for merger

On Thursday the companies announced they had proceeded with the handover of several SUAL subsidiaries to RUSAL's recently created RUSAL Global Management B.V. The aluminum giants explain this by wanting to optimize the structure of their companies prior to the merger, the RBC Daily newspaper wrote today.

Meanwhile, Russian antimonopoly agency chief Igor Artemyev admitted yesterday that the consideration of RUSAL and SUAL's merger appeal may take longer than expected.
