Russia Copper, Nickel ExportsDown, Aluminum Up

Russia exported 119,300 metric tons of copper in January-June, a fall of 1.8% on the year, the Federal Customs Service reported. The exported copper was worth $725.9 million, compared with $651.6 million a year earlier. Out of the total export volume, 117,200 tons was exported outside the Commonwealth of Independent States worth $711.2 million compared with 120,900 tons worth $649.2 million a year earlier. Russia exported in January-June 113,200 metric tons of nickel, 5% less than in the corresponding period last year, the service said. The exported nickel was worth $4.634 billion, compared with $1.965 billion a year ago. Out of the total nickel export volume, 112,700 tons were exported to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States worth $4.616 billion compared with 118,900 tons worth $1.96 billion a year ago. Russia also exported 2.172 million metric tons of aluminum in January-June, 2.9% more than the year-earlier period. The exported aluminum was worth $4.093 billion compared with $3.163 billion a year ago. Of the total exports in January-June, 2.167 million tons, worth $4.081 billion, were exported to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States compared with 2.108 million tons, worth $3.156 billion, a year earlier.
