Aluminum premiums still record high prior to LME rule change

Reuters reported that aluminum premiums are still at record highs even after the London Metal Exchange announced plans to overhaul its warehousing policy which will depress the physical market in the long term.

Century Aluminum Company said that business has almost stagnated in the weeks after the LME's dramatic move as traders’ producers end users and warehousing companies calculate the impact of a broad rule change, aimed at easing wait times for metal, on their business.
