November aluminum mill product orders in North America declined 3.6% compared with October and 0.2% from November 2016's total, according to the Aluminum Association.
In the first 11 months of 2017, mill product orders rose 1.3%, the trade group said.
Plate orders fell 25.6% compared with October and 17.2% from the year-ago period, it said.
Orders of domestic can stock fell 4.1% compared with the previous month and 3.2% year on year. Export can stock orders dipped 12.6% compared with October and 25.7% from November 2016, the group said.
Extruded product orders fell 5.5% from October, but increased 1.5% compared with year-ago levels.
Foil orders were off 1.9% from the previous month, but up 12.6% from the same period last year.
Orders of non-heat treatable sheet rose 2.8% from October and 0.1% from November 2016. The most recent month's heat-treatable sheet orders increased 4.7% from October and 29.9% from last year.
Drawing stock orders rose 0.7% from the previous month and 0.1% year over year.
The index is based on reports of new orders, minus cancellations, received by 23 participants for the period, representing about 80%-85% of total industry shipments in the US and Canada.
