BHP Billiton cut South Africa aluminum smelting furnace electricity demanding

Jan. 31—BHP Billiton declared it has lower 10% its South Africa Hillside, Bayside and Mozal aluminum smelter electricity demanding to stabilize the electricity supply situation. Reports also said that South Africa government and electricity supply company Eskom has issued related policy. Statements said that these three factories have stopped some production facilities and it expected the output in the following five days will be reduced. BHP this situation will go on in the following several months.
