SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Australia is imposing a provisional 16% duty on imports of some aluminum extrusions from China after conducting an investigation in response to a complaint from Capral Ltd. (CAA.AU), an Australian manufacturer of aluminum extrusions. "Customs and Border Protection compared weighted average normal values to weighted average export prices for the four exporters selected for further verification and calculated a dumping margin of 18%. Customs and Border Protection then applied the lesser duty provision and calculated a China-wide provisional dumping duty rate of 16%," said a notice published on the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service's Web site. The customs authority will offer a recommendation to the Australia Minister for Home Affairs on whether to publish a dumping notice and any further measures on or before April 16, 2010, said the notice. -By James Campbell, Dow Jones Newswires, +656415-4082; james.campbell@dowjones.com Click here to go to Dow Jones NewsPlus, a web front page of today's most important business and market news, analysis and commentary: http://www.djnewsplus.com/access/al?rnd=BaSS0I8sNMINSIhDKSfJYg%3D%3D.
