Aluminum capacitor prices will remain stable, says Nichidenbo

Nichidenbo, a distributor of Nippon Chemi-con in Taiwan, has said ASPs of aluminum capacitors will remain stable and are not likely to increase temporarily due to appreciation of the Japanese yen. NDB saw October 2009 revenues decline 12.9% sequentially to NT$176 million (US$5.41 million). Despite a sequential decline, Nichidenbo's revenues in October reached the second high in 2009. The company expects November revenues to remain level, while it is uncertain about the outlook for December. Orders from the power supply segment are sliding, while the motherboard segment is slowly growing, according to industry sources. The aluminum capacitor market is expected to see another wave of recovery at the end of the second quarter or in the third quarter of 2010, the sources indicated.
