Taiwan-based aluminum capacitor makers are likely to report stable sales for the fourth quarter due to better-than-expected demand in the traditionally low season, according to industry sources. Their profits will also remain stable, since Japan-based competitors have no plans to increase shipments, keeping supply tight and average selling price (ASP) steady, the sources added. Taiwan Chinsan Electronic Industrial, Lelon Electronics, Kaimei Electronic all have seen demand recover and expect to enjoy growth in 2010, the sources said, adding Taiwan Chinsan entered into a strategic partnership with a Japan-based company earlier in 2009 and plans to add one more next year. Nichidenbo (NDB), a distributor for Nippon Chemi-con in Taiwan, has reported revenues of NT$192 million (US$5.95 million) for November, up 8.8% on month to hit the second highest level of 2009 mainly due to demand from the LCD TV and notebook sectors. The company expects to see revenues decline in December due to inventory adjustments by customers, the sources said.
