Vedanta to invest Rs 6,611 crore to increase production capacity at BALCO’s smelter

   According to a statement from Vedanta, an aluminum producer in India, it has planned to invest Rs 6,611 crore over the next 18-24 months to increase the aluminum smelting capacity at Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd. (BALCO) by 414,000 tons per year.

  BALCO has an annual production capacity of nearly 1 million tons currently. With the expansion plan, its value-added products portfolio will increase to 92%. Meanwhile, Vedanta’s aluminum capacity will also be hiked to 2.8 million tons per year.
