Japan Car Industry Aluminum Consumption increased to 130kg/unit

Japan Aluminum Association said in 2006 Japan car industry aluminum alloy consumption increased to 130kg/unit from 96kg/unit. Chairman of Japan Aluminum Association car aluminum authority Nobumichi Shiga said: “in 2006, the total aluminum alloy consumption amount is 1.7 million ton.” Currently, auto car engine and wheel production use aluminum instead of steel, and aluminum plate to light auto car weight. In order to enlarge the use aluminum, auto car industry need acquire more technology to fully use the advantage of aluminum.
