Taiwan-based aluminum capacitor maker Taiwan Chinsan Electronic Industrial expects to see monthly growth in third-quarter 2009 with order visibility extending to September and revenue share from the Japan market reaching 10%. The company has cut into the supply chain in Japan, with shipments beginning in April and expanding in June. Taiwan Chinsan is currently shipping 18mm aluminum capacitors used in games consoles to Japan-based vendors, and it plans to expand its market in Japan with more product lines in the future. It also plans to increase capacity of its mid- and high-voltage products by 50% by the end of 2009, according to the company. The company has reported consolidated revenues of NT$286 million (US$8.72 million) for June, up 33.6% on month and hitting the company's record. Second-quarter consolidated revenues totaled NT$711 million, up 36.7% on quarter. Market watchers expect Taiwan Chinsan's second-quarter gross margin to return to 23% as the patent rights of its material supplier in Germany have expired, resulting in a 10% reduction on procurement costs. source:www.digitimes.com
