Over 10,000 workers in Venezuelan aluminum park slowed their production speed deliberately to exerte pressure on the four aluminum facilities in the local: Alcasa, Venalum, Carbonorca and Bauxilum. “Our aim is for more investment on technology promotion from the company as well as higher pay from the government. ”, said a head of the move. Union members of the four plants had rejected the proposal of 10 per cent’s raise by National Basic Industry and Mining Association. They requested an increase of 13%, 14%, 15% respectively for good, fine and excellent workers. Union leaders submitted a petition to Ministry of Labor’s inspection and quarantine department last week as part of legal strike, stating ’this shows we don’t find the way for an agreement.’ All of the four plants are subsidiaries of heavy industry group CVG.
