Braziln Aluminum Consumption at Record in 2007

Brazil consumed a record 919,800 tons of aluminum in 2007, up 9.7% on year, according to data from Brazil Aluminum Association. The date showed the increase was mainly in consumable commodities (80,700 tons), packaging (27,400 tons), vehicles manufacturing (238,500 tons), machinery facilities (36,700 tons) and construction (105,800 tons), respectively up 15%, 13.9%, 11.9%, 8.3% and 11.1%. But the consumption in power industry fell 11.9% to 90,700 tons because of delay in power transmission projects and lighting programmes. COPYRIGHT All rights reserved.
