The Aluminum Association announced the addition of four new members last Friday. It now counts Almexa Alumino, Emirates Global Aluminium, Linde LLC, and Material Sciences Corporation among its numbers.

Almexa Alumino joins the Association as a producer member. The company is based in Cuautitlan, Mexico and operates three plants that produce aluminium plate, sheet, and foil for markets including the automotive, packaging, construction, and cookware sectors.

Emirates Global Aluminium also joins as a producer member, turning out aluminium in ingots, billet, slab ingot, and liquid. The Abu Dhabi-based firm is the regions biggest primary aluminium producer and operates Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and Emirates Aluminium (EMAL). The company is also in the process of opening a bauxite project in Guinea and constructing an alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi.

New Jersey’s Linde LLC joins as an associate member, as it supplies aluminium-producing companies with various gases necessary to the production process. It also produces oxygen-assisted combustion systems for remelt and recycling furnaces. Such systems enhance productivity and process flexibility, reduce emissions, and increase the reliability of combustion systems.

Material Sciences Corporation also joins as an associate member. Calling Canton, Michigan home, the company maintains its headquarters at its Application Research Center. The firm also operates aluminium processing plants in Walbridge, Ohio and Elk Grove Village, Illinois. MSC supplies cleaning and treating services for aluminium coils to aluminium producers as well as providing coil-coating services and supply-chain management to firms both within and outside of the aluminium sector. Its proprietary “Quiet Aluminum” technology reduces noise, volume, harshness, and weight to aluminium utilized in the automotive sector.

“This is a unique time for our industry with both opportunities and challenges for companies along the value chain of aluminum production,” said President & CEO of Scepter and Aluminum Association Chairman Garney Scott. “We’re excited to have these new voices at the table as we continue to speak with a united voice for the industry.”
