It was reported that Hydro has decided to expand the aluminum recycling capacity at its extrusion plant in Sjunnen, Sweden, in order to meet the growing demand for low-carbon aluminum profiles.
The aluminum recycling capacity at this plant will be increased by approximately 50%, and the expansion was scheduled to be completed by the end of next year.
With this expansion, the annual aluminum recycling capacity in the Sjunnen plant will rise to 62,000 tons from 42,000 tons.
Besides, Hydro has aimed to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% by 2030. The increase in its recycling aluminum capacity and producing more low-carbon alloys and extrusions will help Hydro to achieve this goal.
