Russia produced in January-April 1.26 million metric tons of primary aluminum, 3% more than the year-earlier period, according to the Aluminy lobby group, which acts on behalf of the Rusal and Sual aluminum groups.
Alumina output during the period increased by 3% on year to 1.088 million tons.
Separate figures for output by Rusal and Sual are no longer given as the two companies are merging, together with Glencore,into United Company Rusal.
Ukraine produced in January-April 538,112 metric tons of alumina, down 1.6% on the year-earlier period’s output, the economic policy ministry reported.
Alumina output at the Nikolaev Alumina Plant, controlled by Rusal, decreased in January-April by 0.2% to 460,600 tons.
