United Company Rusal, Russia's biggest aluminium producer, said it has mandated a consortium of banks to arrange and underwrite a 2 bln usd syndicated loan.
The banks include ABN AMRO, Barclays (nyse: BCS - news - people ) Capital, BNP Paribas (other-otc: BNPZY.PK - news - people ), Calyon, Citigroup (nyse: C - news - people ), ING (nyse: IND - news - people ), Natixis and Societe Generale.
The loan, which marks Rusal's entry into the syndicated loan market, will be used to refinance some of the group's existing debt.
United Company Rusal was formed early this year from the three-way merger of Rusal with fellow Russian aluminium group Sual International Ltd and the alumina assets of Switzerland's Glencore International AG.
