RUSAL to Build up a Plant on Sakhalin

MOSCOW, October 19. UC RUSAL signed a memorandum of understanding with the authorities of the Sakhalin region on the construction of an aluminum plant in the region . The plant will cost USD7 billion and have the capacity of 750 thousand tons. The parties are also planning to construct an electric power station on the base of the Solntsevo coal pit of the capacity of 2,300 MW and to reconstruct ports and build up railroads.
