The Russian aluminum producer UC Rusal said that the strike at its Red Riding Hood bauxite mine in the Urals was over, and they have agreed to negotiate on the strikers’ demands on pay and future investment commitments. Last week workers at the Krasnaya Shapochka bauxite mine, branch of SUBR mining complex, refused back to the ground while requesting a pay raise. The company announced at that moment that there was no effect on the bauxite output of the complex, saying there was enough stock for continuing production. However, the company suspended operations at all five mines in the complex during the 10-day protest. "We continue the dialogue and we still believe that this is the only constructive way to resolve issues in this situation." said:Rusal in a statement. The company said the management and workers were to negotiate a new collective agreement for 2009-2010 and all the issues raised by the workers, including pay, would be addressed in negotiations.
