Rusal Says Its Bauxite Mine in Guinea Is Operating Normally

Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- United Co. Rusal, the world's largest aluminum producer, said its bauxite mine in Guinea is operating normally after protests last week. Bauxite is being transported to port for exports, said a Rusal spokeswoman in Moscow who declined to be identified, citing company policy. Deliveries from Cie. Des Bauxites de Kindia were disrupted last week after demonstrators blocked rail lines. Guinea is the world's biggest exporter of bauxite, which is refined into alumina, the raw material used to make aluminum. Source: Bloomberg
