LONDON--Total world aluminum inventories in January 2007 rose by 52,000 metric tons to 2.995 million tons, from 2.943 million tons in December 2006, according to figures released Monday by the International Aluminum Institute.
However, January's figure was down 240,000 tons from the January 2006 production figure of 3.235 million tons.
