Rio Tinto Alcan Signed agreements with Cameroon Government on Hydropower and aluminum Smelt Projects

Paris, Nov. 30—Rio TInto ALcan revised on the intend letter they made in 2005 and signed formal agreement. The agreement said the two will build a 1000 MW Hydropower plant in Songmbengu. Rio Tinto Alcan plan to execute all needing technology research work to evaluate the scale of this smelt project. It is expected to make a resolution on if to launch this project. Rio Tinto ALcan also reach an agreement on accelerate the construction of Lom Panger Dam. This dam will help Cameroon to raise its global energy supplying place. Cameroon government and Rio Tinto Alcan each own 46.7% of this factory’s shares.
