Chinalco Set To Get Seat On Rio Tinto's Board - Report

LONDON, Feb 08, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Aluminum Corp of China Ltd, or Chinalco, is to be given a seat on Anglo-Australian miner Rio Tinto PLC's (RTP) board of directors, The Sunday Times reports without citing sources. Rio Tinto is expected to reveal the details of its strategic partnership with Chinalco when its releases its full-year results on Thursday, The newspaper reports. The Chinese company is in talks to buy individual Rio mines and industrial facilities as well as increase its shareholding in the company through a placing of Rio Tinto's shares, the newspaper says.
