Alcoa names president for wheel unit

Aluminum giant Alcoa (NYSE: AA) said it has named a new president of its Cleveland-based Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products unit. Tim D. Myers, 43, takes the job immediately at the unit, which serves the commercial vehicle, defense and automotive markets. Alcoa Wheel’s products include Dura-Bright and Dura-Flange wheels, LvL One truck wheels and M-Series medium truck wheels, and other aluminum components. The unit has 2,800 employees at 30 locations in Australia, Europe, Japan, North America, Russia and South Africa. Locally, Alcoa Wheel has a plant on Harvard Avenue in Cleveland and some administrative operations in Independence. Mr. Myers succeeds Kevin B. Kramer, who has been appointed president of growth initiatives for Alcoa. Mr. Myers had been vice president and general manager of commercial vehicle wheels, responsible for Alcoa truck wheel plants worldwide and sub-assembly and logistics sites in North America. Mr. Myers joined Alcoa in 1991 as an automotive applications engineer with the Commercial Rolled Products Division. Before coming to Alcoa, Mr. Myers was a product design engineer for Ford Motor Co.
