In the first half year of 2013, under the guidance of national policies, the nonferrous enterprises take effective measures to face the great challenge in the domestic and overseas market, so the nonferrous metals industry keep steady production growth, but the prices still decreased, and overcapacity and low profit are also the main problems existed in this industry.

 There are some problems arousing our attention. The first problem was that the industry structure was unreasonable, and the existing problems were oversupplied smelting capacity, inadequate resource , and shortage of high added-value products. The second was that a new set of illegal electrolytic aluminum programs was under construction in the western area, and the overcapacity was quite obvious. Meanwhile, on accounting of rising power price and overcapacity, the industry was faced with great loss. The third problem was that the bauxite resource still rely on import The fourth problem was that dispute in the international trade intensified, and it was not easy for the export.

To promote the development of the nonferrous metal industry, the main task for the next half year is to strictly control the total amount, to strengthen the development of new material, to enhance the exploit power, and to promote the advanced technology.
