State-run National Aluminium Co. Ltd. (NALCO) said on Friday that a two-day strike that had shut an alumina refinery in Orissa had been resolved.
"It was called off late yesterday. They (employees) had blockaded the plant to demand jobs for the kin of a worker who died from illness. Now it has been resolved," a spokesman said.
He said the alumina refinery located at Damanjodi had an annual capacity of 1.57 million tonnes.
NALCO is India's second-biggest aluminium producer and a key exporter of alumina.
